Coating For Tablet/Phone Screen

Featured Replies

I heard that a product called Rain-X is wonderful for keeping greasy fingerprints off touchscreen devices. Has anyone seen this available? Or some other product?

does anyone uses a protective film for the touch screen phones ?

Iam not overly keen on rubbing liquids into my touchscreen no matter how well it repels greasy fingers but then my issue is scratches not prints, I use a whatever brand screen protector from Tukom, costs 100b and they fit it, when my screen is filthy I just wipe it with a paper towel and when the scratches become to much I just get another put on.

Also ask the manufacturer about using rain-x, it might void the warranty.

Used to use it on my windscreen back in Blighty . . .

Rain-X would be useless to potentially harmful (it has a nasty, solvent-like smell), unless you plan to use your tablet in the rain at high speed.

It works very well on automobile windshields, reducing to coefficient of friction allowing rain to bead up and roll off. It is amazing, you can literally drive without using windshield wipers.

A quick wipe with a damp cloth will suffice, and maybe wash your hands occasionally. ;)

On my smartphone I use a Zagg screen. But a smartphone probably gets more exposure (other hard objects in a pocket or purse) than a tablet would?
