I am moving to Thailand in a month and consume a lot of "superfoods" for my health. By that I mean products such as acai, spirulina, chorella, maca, gogi berries....... In my previous trips to LOS I have only seen overpriced products that offer tiny amounts for high prices in stores like Boots. I doubt there is a store that sells them in LOS but I have found one in Singapore that carries all I need ( Health Force products) at good prices. Also Gary Null and Vitacost on line from the USA. Anyone ever imported vitamins/heathfood into Thailand before? Does Thai customs charge a high fee to bring them in? Do they steal them in the Thai postal system?:o I'll be bringing in a few months supply from LA but would like to know about future purchaces as I run out of things.Cheers!:jap:

Hi there are only a few places that sell super foods and natural foods and products and that is because it is so hard to import. I have used Good Karma Thailand as they are the only proper online store with an online shopping cart and accept payment by Thai bank transfer and also by US Paypal (but you must pay the paypal fees ).

They have organic chia seeds, Himalayan Salt, raw cacao beans, and many other organic grains such as quinoa, as well as just a good general selection, however they do not carry organic produce.

The latest things I bought there were a natural mouthwash, Himalayan salt and the Chia seeds.

I think bringing some stuff over is fine though as customs will charge you 30% import duty on the shipping cost and value too so you can only ship a small amount to stay under the customs radar.

Good luck.

For spirulina you should check out Skyline Spirulina. It is fresh rather than dried and produced in Bangkok. I like it a lot better than the dry stuff because it doesn't really have much flavor or smell, plus its local.

It is produced by a company called EnerGaia: http://www.energaia.com

I really do not know what a "superfood" is !

All the Thai people I know eat a Thai diet. They are slim and fit!

Are they eating cheap "superfood" or is the "superfood" discussed here something different ?

If different where is the evidence ?
