I bought mine ,Brand name :: Minoya, at Makro. Works very well.I forget , but I think it was B1,900.Not expensive, particularly for the use I get out of it.

Makro do a chip fryer with a basket around 400 baht I have one works great however is not electric simply goes on the stove.

Used to use one of those, still have it,but the Minoya has a temperature control- makes it so much better and you get better quality finished product. Also ,the Thais find it much more satisfactory -easier for them to use

Bought a simple deep fryer, Zebra (?) brand, at the kitchen supply shop next to the front parking lot at Foodland on Klang. Cheap and still works after 3 years. Great for fish and individual or family portions of chips.

They have that same exact model at Central. That's where I bought mine. However, they often run out of stock and are not always available.
