Need A Thai Person Go To Drivers-licence-office

Featured Replies

I need a Thai person to accompany me to go to the Drivers-licence-office in PTY (on the Highway to Rayong) as soon as possible. Had a very bad experience, when I tried to get the licence there 2 weeks ago, after they realized I did not bring any Thai person to accompany me, (the TGF of a Farang friend let me register at her address in PTY to proceed paperwork, but due to a wrong information from one of the stuff there, I had to go to immigration again and then come back, but then she was busy and couldnt assist me and she is away from PTY for some weeks now). And the residence certificate I have expires after one month. My papers are 100% complete.

That will take maybe 2-3 hours in the morning, depends on how busy the office is, and how lazy or unwilling the stuff is. Will pay 500 Baht for that (hope thats okay). will pick up and send back the person from and to PTY. If anybody has an english-speaking Thai GF or wife and she is willing to do this, contact me through PM as soon as possible. must be done until next tuesday.

Thanks

AsiaWolfie there is a easy way to do this , when you go to the licence center as you get there you wil see the stalls with the photo copy gear , just ask for a english speaking thai to help you with the paper work and for between 500 and 1000 baht ( depending how gullible you look ) bingo your in , also as you go up the stairs to the licence section the regulations are writen on the wall in thai and english and it clearly states if you have a english licence you do not need to take a test only a colour blind test so try not let them fork you about , good luck with your quest

Poppa, thanks for reply, its aprreciated, but: I know all that, I have all the papers, health certificate, photos correct size, international driving licence, residence certificate.... just EVERYTHING.

it just seemed they are not willing to deal with un-accompanied Farang who doesnt speak Thai and its too risky to go all the way to PTY from BKK again and return (240 km ride by car) and not knowing if things will go smooth this time. as I said, my certificate of residence is going to expire soon, and I wanna make it 100% sure that I get the Licence this time. thats why.

Well things must have changed.

I went last year and again earlier this year unaccompanied and I did not speak in Thai. I just handed over the paperwork to the girl and stated what I wanted in English.

All I had to do was sign the bottom of the forms and was told to come back in two hours. Went back and picked up the licences, no problem whatsoever.

I found it interesting that those farang who had Thai girls with them had to complete the forms themselves.

Anyhow, good luck and let us know how you get on.

Noel, you are right.... it depends very much which person there is at ur service. while waiting there, I found the girls helpful but my number was choosen to deal with a lazy tired guy.... and obviously, he had no interest to deal with an unaccompanied Farang.....
