think it was the apple server, at first it showed 17 hrs but 45 mins later downloaded and installed in 25 mins, especially impressed with the full screen feature and new mail

Downloading now, mainly for the new Mail.

Apple has a dedicated line out of the country, it's a virtual co-hosting solution, so downloads run at full in-country speeds. Certainly maxing out my 5MBit connection.

One thing I noticed - the new MacBook Air "ships within 24h" in HK, for Thailand it's "mid-August". I really want one but screen size is too small for me, unfortunately - the maxed out 13" looks insane: Dual core Core i7, 7 hours battery, 1440x900, and 256GB SSD for 51k baht... (in Hong Kong). In Thailand we seem to be paying 56k for the same machine which seems high.
