Think Twice Before Using Bupa…

Featured Replies

For me dental care is very important. In my case I need dental work yearly because I get cavities even though I brush three times a day. When I moved to Asia I called Pacific prime Insurance brokers and I asked for a plan that will include dental care. You can call them or go to the site and ask questions. They found a insurance company for what I needed and for the past 3 years I have used them for my dental care while I never had another health issue like a broken bone or any surgeries.BR

Have Bupa Thailand for many years and we have a small company policy for our staff.

Both myself and one staff member had to make a claim this year for seperate incidents, we will be finding an alternative as soon as it expires.

My Thai staff member was told you should go to a goverment hospital you are not farang by the rep in Samui. She was in TIH after being hit by a drunk on a bike.

My own claim was argued and not paid as being pre-existing, despite being confirmed as a acute infection ?

There is NO insurance against accidents or falling sick!

Only health care or accident cover! :whistling:

"Birds don't have teeth."

How do Buzzards eat?

Plus, I thought a "Bird" was an English term for women. They have teeth everywhere, and there's no insurance available for them.

At least one member who has met this person who worksfor BUPA on Koh Samui.

This person is a salesrepresentative and not a case representative.

I got a worldwide legal insurance and would just hand the case over to the lawyer at zero cost to me...

There is no case. The OP said that his wife began suffering from toothache. He didn't say she had problems with her teeth as the result of an accident.

+1

To keep this in perspective BUPA is better than nothing by a long way....

That's what I think. I just renewed the platinum cover cost me 30k for the year, I drive a motorbike daily and as you know its nuts on the roads here i would rather have 2 million baht cover for that then nothing at all whilst laying in some soi bleeding to death.

Also for an extra 4k I got my missus covered, she said that was a nice thing to do, i said buying insurance for yourself was like buying a new car with 1 air bag, how selfish can you get.

Maybe you need to double check your cover for riding a motorcycle. My BUPA only pays for 50% in the case of a motorcycle accident. To be fair though it is a cheap company policy.

I am pretty sure all policies cover motorcycle accident injury treatment the same as other accidents. The 50 percent payment is for loss of limbs, eyes etc from a motorcycle accident not for medical treatment.

Some only cover you for a motor bike accident up to 200CC.

Disappointing to see so few posters replying. Highlights the large number with no insurance at all. To keep this in perspective BUPA is better than nothing by a long way....

Why does few replies equate to "large number with no insurance at all"?

This is a thread about BUPA. Not every expat uses this insurance company.

I myself am with LMG.

Please think before you post Smokie.

My apologies to those viewing this thread. Sadly I must have been trawling the bottom depths for too long....indeed this was so...thus my sincere happiness should now be evident having seen the light. smile.gif
