16 days and counting until the Asian Indoor Games. Is Pattaya ready?

The 1st Asian Indoor Games are to be held here in Thailand between 12th and 19th of November. Events will be held in 5 stadiums in Thailand’s Capital City, Bangkok, at the Supanburi Indoor Stadium in Central Thailand and here at the Indoor Athletics Stadium in Jomtien. We can announce that the interior of the stadium has been completed, however work is still ongoing on the car parking facilities with only 16 days until the event is due to begin. We joined Khun Sitiparp, from the Technical Services Department of Pattaya City Hall as he surveyed the car-park area. Although it appears to be far from complete we have been assured that the car-park will be completed on time for the games to begin.

This indoor Asian Games will involve 45 nations and includes Aerobics, Dance sport, Extreme sports, Futsal, Hoop Takraw, Indoor Athletics, Indoor Cycling, Muay and Swimming.

Well that sounds exhausting....I`m off for a rest.

Events to be held in different areas around Thailand, not just Pattaya.

Pattaya will host the indoor athletic sports portion at the new (hope-it's-ready-in- time) arena:

Competition will consist of the following events:

• Men

Track : 60M., 200m., 400m., 800m., 1,500m., 3,000m., 60m. Hurdles

Relay : 4x400m.

Field : High jump, Pole vault, Long Jump, triple Jump, Shot Put.

Combined : Heptathlon

• Female

Track : 60M., 200m., 400m., 800m., 1,500m., 3,000m., 60m. hurdles

Relay : 4x400m.

Field : High jump, Pole vault, Long Jump, triple Jump, Shot Put.

Combined : Pentathlon
