I know this is an old topic, but I'm wondering if the shop is still there.

I want to buy an Apple computer and the Apple shop in Khon Kaen said the nearest shop that had educational pricing was at MSU.

The problem is that the only method of payment they accept is credit card (not even a bank transfer). I don't have a credit card on my Thai bank and the US credit cards I have charge a 1-3% service fee plus whatever bad exchange rate they give. That wipes out the education discount.

The education discount on the Mac Mini I want is only 700THB, so that is something I can just go buy at the local Apple Shop. Where it really makes a difference is on the AppleCare Plan. Retail is 5500 and Ed pricing is 4400. I'll probably just go the the Apple store and buy the Mini then order the AppleCare online. You can get that as long as the original basic warranty is valid (90 days). 1% of 4400 THB is acceptable.

One of these days I may have to get a Thai credit card for times like these.
