I've recently started using Chrome as a browser as well as Firefox. uTorrent is my default torrent handler. When I use FF to download a torrent I get an FF pop-up asking me whether I want to download it or pass it off to uTorrent for handling. When I use Chrome it simply downloads the torrent file without giving me any options. Is this a general problem with Chrome or is there some setting in Chrome that I need to alter?

If you want certain types of files to always open after they're done downloading, click the arrow next to the file button in the downloads bar and select Always open files of this type. To prevent potentially malicious files from automatically downloading to your computer, this option isn't available for executable filetypes, such as those with .exe, .dll, or .bat extensions (for Windows), and .dmg extensions (for Mac).

click on the spanner at the top right corner of chrome

then click 'options'

'under the bonnet'

then you'll see this

you can choose the default folder for downloads and choose that chrome auto-opens torrents, then when you d/load one, it opens directly in utorrent and you don't have to muck about with it :)
