Several neighbouring countries compete with Thailand for foreign retirees
You bet your bottom dollar it will! Fitting in with stupid photos sitting on your bed with wife and children and also sitting in front of your house. Remember, proof of income letter, proof of money in the bank, 6 months bank statements etc... their aim is to squeeze every last penny then can and the breaks will only be applied if there is a significant exodus out of Thailand. -

What do security guards actually do in Thailand?
If you are really into that fetish stuff, then get them to carry a golf bag full of putters and balls. Then you can also get away with the caddy narrative. -

Oh Beloved Bangkok, How So You Have Changed...
It has changed dramatically as you said, some of it's good, some of it not so good. I still really enjoy spending time in Bangkok, but due to the traffic, the population, and the air quality I'm thrilled that I don't have to live there. The changes in public transportation have been a fantastic improvement. I would never want to go there for more than a week at a time, but that one week, or even a few days can be alot of fun. I remember back in the days, during my first trip to Thailand in 1976, I don't think there was a single building over 10 stories tall. I remember things like Clinton Plaza, and how much fun Patpong was back in the day, and things like that. But the reality is that everything has changed, everything about the world has changed, nothing is the same, we're not the same and nothing else is the same. So it's kind of a crazy to expect sameness anywhere. It doesn't exist. -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
This means that so far , mostly young conscripts are being sent north to try and blunt the Ukarainians advance. Which could explain why the Russians are falling back to a more defensible line. It's far easier to dig in and hold a line with raw troops, than a frontal assault. -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
Welcome back. I've been missing your sensible contributions. Indeed, one has to wonder about Zelensky's plan, if he actually has one. I was beginning to wonder if the stories about the shortage of men was just a trick to fool the Russians, and they have a large force hidden away to exploit the incursion. -

The police need to be looking for all of these friends as well. Surely, if the police had not arrived fast enough this man would be dead. -

Trump’s nephew insists former president is showing signs of ‘dementia’ like his grandfather
I bet his party leaders know that but too scared to ask him to vacate for another younger candidate. These sycophants cowardly leaders will follow him into the abyss.
