Ubon To Udon

Featured Replies

Hi,

Was planning to go to Udon to visit a friend one weekend.

I visited Ubon bus station and checked out the two companies that seem to be running buses, both seemed to stop at half a dozen places on the way and take 7-8 hours. That's a hell of a long ride for a 400 click journey.

Anyone know of any direct buses, or any other suggestions. Flying's out as Ubon only flies to BKK.

Cheers

I've never heard of any.at udonmap, they have van service, but to go ubon to pick ya up,I don't know.

Grendel, that is about right 7-8 hours Ubon to Udon by bus. Only 2 routes and they both stop often. Mostly at bus terminals but also stop along the way to drop off and pick up fares along the road. You can go through Khon Kaen or up through Sakon Nakorn.

One option might be Nakorn Chai Air to Korat then take a more or less express from Korat to Udon.

I did this trip ubon-nong-khai earlier this year, admitterely we had time on our hands. We caught a express VIP bus to khon khaen, o/nite @ kosa hotel reasonable price, good pool, then next day tuk-tuk to bus station, direct to nong-khai, from K.K. there is numerous buses daily to udon regards songhklasid.B)

There is another co. with a 32 seat vip bus. Bus route number is 833 Goes to Nong Khai via Khon Kaen. I think it leaves Ubon at 9am. 1 bus a day.
