The situation is that my non O visa expires more than 30 days before the last 90 day re entry does. Therefore, if I wait till 30 days before the re entry expires, and for some reason I am not successful, I can't just do another border run as the visa will have expired.

I could just do another run anyway, and then apply for the extension 30 days before that 90 day re entry expires, but apart from the extra expense, with the change of gov't I'm worried that they might change the rules before that time comes.

If I can apply a couple of months before the non O expires, then if it does fail at least I'll get another 90 days by doing a run just before the visa expires.

Thanks for any help.

Seems you have a multiple entry non-O, not a re-entry permit.

You can only extend during the last 30 day of any permission to stay. In case of need, immigration might allow you to apply earlier, but you don;t seem to have a need. Guess you have to make a choice bewteen doing the extension during the last 30 days and doing a border run beofre the visa expires and getting another 90 days.

Do know that you can get a 60 day extension of stay without any financial check.

You can normally apply during the last 30 days of any entry (the visa being valid or not is immaterial to that). Application earlier is not normally allowed without good reasons.

But the question is do you have a visa entry of 90 days or a one year extension of stay with a re-entry permit (which you mention)? A re-entry permit does not provide more time to stay than is authorized by the extension of stay or visa entry.

You can easily obtain a new visa entry from a consulate in worst case but once application is accepted it would be highly unlikely to be refused after the 30 day wait and if it was they would likely offer a 60 day extension of stay without financial requirements.

Yes, I have a one year multiple non O. Sorry if I used the wrong terminology. I was referring to doing a border run to obtain another 90 days in Kingdom.

No, I didn't know about the extra 60 days, but it's good to know that.

Thanks for the info.

As I mentioned in my previous reply, I was using the wrong terminology, sorry.

Thanks for replying.
