Crime Armed Man Causes Chaos in Hospital Over Delayed Treatment for Pregnant Wife
Picture courtesy of Workpoint. A 29-year-old man armed with a BB gun and a ceremonial knife caused panic at Somdet Phra Phutthaloetla Hospital, Samut Songkhram, on the evening of 18 July, after claiming his heavily pregnant wife was being neglected despite her waters having broken. The incident unfolded as Police Lieutenant Phasawan Limpaiwan and four other officers from Amphawa Police Station were escorting a psychiatric patient to the hospital. While entering the facility, they encountered the man, later identified as Mr. Piamsak, behaving aggressively in the hospital lobby. According to initial reports, Mr. Piamsak was wielding a BB gun and a traditional Thai “sugar-palm” knife said to have originated from the revered monk Luang Por Khong of Wat Bang Kapom. Witnesses stated the man was shouting erratically and appeared to threaten nurses and hospital staff. Lt. Phasawan, assisted by Lance Corporal Siwakorn Torattanasit and other officers, quickly intervened to subdue the suspect. Backup was requested from Mueang Samut Songkhram Police Station, but the situation was brought under control before further escalation. Mr. Piamsak claimed he had brought his wife to the hospital several times previously and was frustrated by repeated delays in receiving care. “My wife is eight months pregnant. Her waters have already broken, but they’re still making us wait,” he told police. “I’m not here to cause trouble. I just want someone to help her.” Police confirmed that the man struck a hospital porter from behind during the disturbance, prompting a brief scuffle. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Lt. Phasawan noted that the man had been visibly agitated and appeared ready to brandish his weapons before officers intervened. Although Mr. Piamsak was not initially detained, hospital officials from Somdet Phra Phutthaloetla have indicated they intend to press charges. A spokesperson stated this aligns with the Ministry of Public Health’s policy to maintain hospitals as “safe zones” and ensure that healthcare environments remain free from threats or intimidation. Authorities are now reviewing security procedures the hospital following the incident. Adapted by Asean Now from Workpoint 2025-07-19 -

USA Trump Sues Wall Street Journal Over Epstein Birthday Letter Claim
Two very big risks for Trump. The first is the ‘Disclosure’ process, and be assured Murdoch has both legal and business interest in obtaining ‘Disclosure’. The second, and perhaps more dangerous issue is the fact Murdoch makes money from the news. He’ll turn on Trump the moment there’s more ratings in negative news about Trump. -

'Liberals were right': Far-right Trump ally calls MAGA 'biggest scam in history'
I guess I'm still missing the point. First off I never heard of this guy. And I still don't know who qualifies as a "MAGA". Is it anyone that supports anything Trump does? If so I would qualify despite serious misgivings over many things he says and does. I had to vote for him because the alternative was a circus show. Lastly I don't see how this racist slug puts Trump in a mess. Despite all the effort put into casting Trump as a racist I have never seen any indication of it in real life. In fact he was a darling of all the lefty black NY politicians before he ran for office. Whatever. This is just another hit piece and doesn't strike home to this right leaning "non-MAGA hat owning" American. -

Accident Man Killed by Train in Thailand: Locals Blame ‘Cemetery Ghost’
Picture courtesy of Naewna. A man was killed after being struck by a train in Udon Thani province on the morning of 18 July, prompting eerie speculation among locals about supernatural forces at play. The incident occurred near an old cemetery site where previous fatalities have sparked rumours of a ghost seeking a “soul substitute”. Emergency services were alerted at around 09.00, by railway staff who had received reports from a passerby. Upon arrival, police from Nakha Sub-Station and rescue volunteers from the Udon Thani Dharma Foundation found the body of a man with severe head injuries and a broken neck. The victim was later identified as Mr. Suwit 49, a security officer with the War Veterans Organisation of Thailand. He was carrying fishing gear, including a homemade electric fish shocker. His body was taken to a local hospital for storage, as he was believed to have no immediate family. Mr. Wichian “Chian” Arsanok 74, a local resident, told police that the victim was known in the area as a quiet man who had been living in a makeshift shelter on a nearby vacant lot. Chian added that the area beside the tracks was once an old graveyard, including a section used for child burials. Two previous fatalities had occurred along this same stretch of rail, fuelling village folklore. “Some people believe this ghost of the cemetery pushes victims into the path of oncoming trains, claiming a new soul so it can be reborn,” said Chian. “I personally don’t believe in such things, but I won’t disrespect them either. Who knows?” Railway crossing guard Mr. Palangtham Moudklang said he first received a report from the driver of the Bangkok–Nong Khai train No. 25, who believed he had hit “either a person or a metal container” around 06.00. No body was found during the initial check. It wasn’t until 09.00 that construction workers passing by spotted the corpse and alerted staff again. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chana Srimarit, the investigating officer, stated that the man was likely fishing in the wetlands adjacent to the tracks and lost his balance on the uneven gravel near the railway. “The train may have caused a vacuum of air that pulled him into its path,” he said. “The injuries were concentrated to the head, consistent with being struck at close range.” Whether the victim simply lost his footing or became part of a darker tale of “spiritual substitution”, one thing remains certain, tragedy has once again visited the tracks at Ban Nong Dae.
