A Nakornsawan monk was expelled from monkhood for tattooing female students buttocks, the headmaster of the local school said some of the students wanted to have tattoos in order to improve their academic results.

Nakornsawan, August 28, 2011 – Pol. Col. Aroon Tangnara, Deputy Director General Nakornsawan Provincial Police together with Mrs Sivarom Siriparp, the headmaster of Potisarn Suksa School, Nakornsawan and parents of the students went to see Pratheppariyatmethi, Lord Abbot of Nakornsawan province in order to complain about the behavior of Monk Theera, designation Chansophano, aged 55, monk of Wat Pamanotham Baan Thupchumpol Tambon Nongkrod, Amphur Muang.

Mrs Sivarom said, three weeks ago Ms “Fah” and Ms “Fon” aged 15, students of the school together with nine fellow male students ran away from school to see Monk Theera and asked the monk to tattoo their bodies, the monk asked for 124 THB per student. The boys were tattooed on their backs, and the girls had their tattoos from their hips to their buttocks.
