Converting A Magazine Story Into Text

I want to translate a article in a magazine for my self, not to post on a public forum, if I scan it in, or take a pic of it, is there any software or website that can sea the words and say put them into a text document that I could put into a online translator and read the article?

Not sure what language you are scanning but there are several OCR (optical character recognition) programs that can convert a scanned document into text from different languages. Windows 7 has some capabilities but believe English OCR only.
