Can anyone recommend where I can buy some non-salted, just natural pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Just been into Rimps and they are so expensive!

Can't say from experience, but I imagine the baker's marts (Yok, Kitchen Friend) would have it. Another place to check is the Vegetarian Society on Mahidol.

You can get them at Warorot Market for sure but perhaps you prefer some clean well lighted place in which case you pay the price.

lol no dark and seedy sounds just fine... :-) (ooh that was a bad one)

Thanks guys

Definitely Warorot market. We have a major cashew habit -- the so-called "raw" cashews, which aren't really raw. They've been steamed, but haven't be cooked in any oil. No salt, either. A handful is a nice late-afternoon snack. We found we had to try several vendors to select a favorite. We buy a couple bags every 7 - 8 days. Whenever we arrive, the one member of the couple who runs the stall dives under the counter and gets some of their "tii sut" (the best) for us regular customers. They always ask what the other is doing if we don't come together. Gives us a chance to practice our Thai, too, although I don't know how many ways I can say "Hubby is taking his afternoon nap, like he does every afternoon."

You can find all kinds of nuts and seeds in the spice department at Makro in bulk and in larger packages. Also Kasem Store has some sunflower and pumpkin seeds in kilo bags that they will break and sell in smaller amounts.

Thanks guys, gonna have a mosey on down today :-)

Yok is perhaps your best bet. I've never found anywhere cheaper for raw nuts bought in 500gm and 1kg bags.

... snip ... whereabouts is Yok...??

Sawasdee Khrup, Khun James24,

I've never been there, but I intend to go, and it looks like it may be here: Yok Intertrade.

Hopefully, someone who has been there will correct the above link if it is incorrect.

There is a second newer Yok location much closer to the old city.

It's just north of the moat on Rattana Kosin Road and near the Mercedes Dealer and the newly opened Hillcoff coffee supply place. BTW that place is great.
