True Settings With D-Link Modem

Featured Replies

Hi, After nearly loosing my mind with the True Landing redirect page while using the Modem True supplied i went out today and purchased a D-Link DSL-2730U. I plugged it in, went to the IP address supplied and set it up using the 'Easy Setup' - it had 2 different True settings. 'True Nokia' and 'True Huawei' - i chose the one that matched by previous settings. I would like to set it up manually in order to get the best out of my 16 MBs package.Does anyone know the settings for the True ADSL that i can enter in the set up for the D-Link router?Thank you.

Thank you. I have got most of the information however when it asks me to enter my username in the dlink settings do I enter mynumber@truehisp ?

mynumber being the landline the Internet service

Even with my new settings I am only getting 2mbps as opposed to my 16mbps that I am paying for..

I don'y know about the setting on your new router but for the standard True supplied Router there is a setting you turn off to stop the landing page thing. Yes it also annoyed me for one day then I turned it off.

Can you please tell me how you did this? It would solve all my problems (to do with the internet connection) all other issues like what to have for lunch will still go unsolved.

Thanks. I removed the new DLInk, put back the true ZyXel modem. Settings > Advance, disable the landing page setting and hey presto, it worked.

Now I have a new Dlink modem spare.

Time to post on the classifieds.......

the dlink, while not the best router is still a decent piece of kit and FAR better than the zyxel, especially if like me, you never turn your router off.

My Dlink has been on continuously (with the occasional reboot) for 3 years. cant do that with a zyxcell. we have one in the office that has to bee turned off to cool it down or everything just slows right down As for the settings, it pretty much works out of the box, bang in your user name and password and you are connected.

Thanks, however I have plugged the DLink in and adjusted the settings but I am still only getting 2mbps compared to the 15mbps I get while using the True branded ZyXel..

When I use the wizard set up with the drink it gives me various ISPs in Thailand. I only see the following with True

True (nokia)

True (Huawai)

The details of the second one match those I have on the ZyXel.

Am I missing something?

^ Skip the wizard and create a new WAN interface manually. Also make sure the DSL modulation on the D-Link is set to ADSL2+ (AnnexM) or Multimode.

I have done this, however the Internet is still slow, about 2mbps compared with 14mbps with the ZyXel..

What's happening?

Also at certain times of the day, the internet connection cuts completely.

Very strange....
