In Thailand, many different options and it simply depends...

You said changing jobs. If it is the same company but changing positions. Then you simply transfer your work permit from one province to the other. No need to travel outside THailand until your visa expires.

If you are changing companies... then different cases may apply

Case 1. You have a multiple entry non B visa. You do NOT have a extension of stay based on business. In that case, you no need to travel out of the country within 14 days of quitting. You simply terminate your work permit in the one province and apply for a new work permit in the new province.

Case 2. You have a extension of stay based on business. You'll have 7 days to notify the Labor Dept and then leave the country 7 days after that day. You then come back into Thailand on a non immigrant visa and get a new work permit and extension of stay ( if you desire and can meet the criteria)
