I am a bit confused on the different forms of "marriage" in Thailand. Is there a difference vis a vis Thai law between "registering" a marriage and others?

Under Thai law there is only 1 marriage: you both sign the wedding register at the ampur and with that you are married. The marriage ceremony is not a legal marriage, just like a church wedding is not recognised as a legal marriage in many Western countries.
