Just Got An Ipad 2

Featured Replies

I just bought an Ipad 2 yesterday because I need it for work to test stuff out on and to present things to our customers. Well not really, I just was in the Apple store and just bought it coz I thought it was cool :)

Ok, I got it now, looked a few apps on youtube to see what they say is a must to get, but nothing really impresses me at all.

I got my Samsung Galaxy S 2 and the apps seem to be so much better than the Ipads.

Anyone know of any great apps for it? I have had a look and there is just so much junk in the apps store.

What cool apps do you have and would like to share with me.

Jailbreak it and you will have access to a whole new World of apps... not limited to "Thailand App store".

There aren't as many apps for the iPad as the iPhone. FlexPlayer is a good one, plays avi files without converting to mp4v. Tunein Radio is pretty good. A lot of apps I use are media types and it would depend on what country you are from as to what's available, like news. Remote if you use iTunes. VLC remote if you use VLC. My wife uses the iPad more than I do and it's easy to change the keyboard to Thai and back to English. There are also cables available to output the video from it to your TV. HDMI, component video and composite video cables are sold separately.

I am on ipad 1.

One program I use often is goodreader. It is a pdf annotation app and reader. Very very good. Reads many different file types.

Pulse to read news on from multiple sources

The English Thai dictionary by Mrs. Becker. 15 pounds sterling, but well well worth it. I use it in my classes and for teaching myself to write Thai.

Redshift for astronomy

World Factbook (many different types, all are similar and all are from CIA databases).

Games:

Angry Bird series, Asphalt 6.

Enjoy your new toy!

I use ipad 2 mainly to read books on my terrace with ibooks.

I downloaded 10.000 books to my PC and bring some over via itunes as needed.

I have English and Thai dictionaries, very handy.

Second use is internet from my sofa.

Then the sporadic game, angr birds or the stupid doodleJump. Will have a look at Asphalt later today.

Also have a music and photo library.

Standard GPS maps very useful when on the move.

I find itunes, apple-store and synchronization rubbish, a bad job from Apple

I don't leave home withouth my ipad lately.
