New Virus Threat

Featured Replies

Hi Just a brief warning

I have had a few emails from clients in Thailand this morning email subject reads "Read ###" (where ### is a number) and the email body is a link "Read this message Here"

So you get some dodgy emails and now we are all to be on the lookout for some type of virus ?

And when you said brief warning you were right as I for one haven't the faintest idea what you are going on about ?

I got one, but deleted it as it looked fishy. What did the link lead to????

Received one of these today from my thai brother in laws email address, his computer is usually packed with the latest viruses, so I did not click the link.

A google search leads to another message board thread, sounds like it is "phishing" for email passwords.

yes I've been getting these messages from several of my contacts. It's mainly from my students who use Hotmail. It seems most people just click on these links without thinking.

I always delete them without even opening.

A little question related to this. One of my close friends has obviously clicked on the link so now I get lots of emails from her with offers of Viagra and other weird products. How can she stop that? Would changing the password help or is it some kind of virus?
