Fast Internet In Phuket

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the Phuket forum, guess it's relevant in both, but anyhow... I'm planning on spending a week or so in Phuket, but will need to do a bit of work and need a stable and reasonably fast internet connection. By reasonably fast, I'm comparing with Bangkok where I currently get by on about 4.5mbps down and 1mbps up and a ping time between 300ms and 350ms. How is the wifi offered at hotels? I tend to not really trust free wifi, half the time it doesn't work or is very slow, but who knows, maybe somebody has stayed at a place where it's consistently good? Otherwise, is there a good 3G option that I could use tethering my phone to my computer? As a last resort, maybe an internet cafe that has a solid connection?Any help/advice is appreciated.
