I Phone 4 Unlock

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just received an I phone 4 from the UK, secondhand.

Version 4.3.3, Modem Firmware 04.10.01

I've bought and inserted a Dtac micro sim and I get the invalid sim on the screen, dam_n it's locked to O2 in the UK.

I went down to my local phone shop and the staff told me I had to buy something for the sim card, it kinda looked like a small computer chip that goes inside with the sim at a cost of 2,000 Baht. Does anybody know what this is?

Is there a way for me to unlock it myself?

Any help would be appreciated! jap.gif

It's probably a Gevey Sim, which is used somehow to unlock the phone. How, I don't know because my phone is factory unlocked. I know that the iPhone Dev Team updated ultrasn0w over the weekend and it now works on ios 5, so I would imagine it would work on 4.3.3. What is your baseband?

Thanks for the reply!

I'd just never seen anything like that and wasn't to sure why I would have needed it, seems a little drastic. Surely there's got to be any easier way?

My base band is 04.10.01

I just googled about your baseband and it said there is no software unlock yet (which is the easier cheap way) and you need a GeveySim, which is what they were trying to sell you. I'm not sure how much they cost though, so i don't know if 2,000 baht is a good price or not. Anyway, good luck and I hope you get it working :)

Don't pay 2000b! Gevey sims are under £4 on ebay UK. They work but there is a better option. You can get the iphone unlocked remotely by o2. You need (or a friend or family memeber) a pay as you go o2 sim, top it up with £15, fill in the form I have sent you the link to and o2 will unlock the phone for you within 10 days (usually within 48 hours). You will need to connect to itunes and the phone will be unlocked. Simple. It will also be "factory unlocked" so you can update your software and the phone will never lose its unlock.

Here is the link:

If you can't get an o2 sim then look on ebay uk, sellers will do it all for you for around £25, all you have to do is connect to itunes i a few days and it is unlocked!

P.S

Will not work if the phone has been barred in the UK.
