Just checking if they will be ready for next years flood

Well can't pick up the pumps just yet, the 'commissions' are still not decided.

Mainly doggie-style with the country.

Reduced now to crude boorish remarks.

Not so long ago this fellow was arguing that every half way respectable country was eager to extradite Thaksin for his crimes.

Thaksin might feel right at home in South Korea:

'Tales of presidential corruption, or corruption committed by president's wives or older brothers or sons or daughters or in-laws, are so commonplace here'... AT

What is "Go Young-Suk, a ministry official" doing with a convicted criminal? is he really "that" stupid?

Same as entertaining Gaddafis wife on the same official level. This has more to do with corrupt officials being attracted like flies to shit. (and ill gotten money of course!)

The Thai people are far too nice. Look - the Arabs ripped Saddam's head right off when they decided the right time had come. they dint allow him to tour the world as their "unofficial ambassidor"!

Thaksin mulls adopting Korean-type anti-flood program

Thailand’s ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra said Wednesday he has taken lessons from Korea’s mega river project as a benchmark for his own country’s flood prevention mechanism.

His visit coincides with the Thai government’s plan to draw up reliable measures to stave off the Southeast Asian country’s chronic flood problems. Seoul officials estimate the project to be valued at $27.8 billion.

“The primary goal of our renovation scheme is to preclude flood damage,” Thaksin said in Yeoju, some 105 kilometers east of Seoul on the South Han River. “We would not be able to revamp our rivers as beautifully as those in Korea given a lack of funds but we need to inject as much money as we can. I’ll certainly let my sister know.”

That's strange as I always read on the web that Thailand actually is one of the SEA country's with the least of debt.

Oh my wrong,he probably had in mind that it would not be doable, even for the financially strongest nation in the world , with all the kickbacks required for government projects in Thailand.

Did he forget he isn't prime minister anymore? I am soooo important. The arrogance is unbelievable.

It's easy to see how he might be muddled as to his role after his selecting the PM candidate, her Cabinet, deciding which PTP MP's stay and which ones go, financing the whole operation, and having government visitors who come to him kowtowing.

Thaksin, in an interview with Tuesday's Chosun Ilbo newspaper, said he would report the outcome of the trip to Yingluck Shinawatra, his younger sister

Ousted Thai PM Tours Korean Waterways Project

Exiled former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra could be seeking the help of Korean construction companies to assist the proxy government headed by his sister in improving her flood-hit country's rivers.

"I believe Korean construction companies, which have ample experience and leading technology, can be of great help to improving Thailand's rivers," the fugitive politician said. Thaksin visited project sites on Tuesday and Wednesday and held a press conference following the tours. "I will advise the Thai government to...

Thaksin, who is on the lam from a two-year jail sentence but widely believed to be running a puppet government from Dubai, said he would "make sure" his sister, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, looks at materials he gathered. Yingluck has been widely criticized for her handling of Thailand's ongoing flood crisis.

The press conference was abruptly cut short when a reporter asked Thaksin if there was a political motive behind his visit.

Even in places other than Thailand, the "inappropriate question "X" sign" comes out.

He's all about democracy, like his sister, the master of the farcical press non-conference, and never met a debate she didn't avoid. Edited by Jingthing
