johnnybgood
Has anyone bought a Kindle 2 (without the keyboard) or Nook Touch e-ink readers in Pattaya? Either will do, maybe the Nook just edges it 'cos it can handle PDF's better. If not here, maybe Siricha or Bangkok maybe? Google search results are well out of date. Thanks in advance. ( 'cos an online purchase is not an option for me)

BB1950
What is Kindle 4 ? Is it Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard or Kindle Fire ? None of the above. The Amazon Kindle 4 aka Kindle 4th Gen, Kindle Touchless or just plain Kindle. Review Edited December 8, 2011 by BB1950
MikeWill
If I recall correctly, the Kindle Touch is the latest edition of Amazon's e-readers so far. P.S. The Kindle Fire isn't exactly an e-reader.
tominbkk
I used read.in.th, good service, quick delivery. You pay abit more, but get it in two days or less. It's all boxed up in a sealed amazon box. I love my Kindle! Between that and my iPad I have all the entertainment I need for a long long trip. johnnybgood
Thanks pault17 & tominbkk I'll get going with that, BTW if anyone wants to check out the different models search you tube - plenty of revues and visuals. .

Gary A
thanks for the reply have you actually bought anything from this shop? Regards I have purchased three Kindles from this shop. One for myself and one each for two friends. Prices are quite high but the service is very good with prompt shipping.
MJo
read.in.th price is 5,600 for basic Kindle. That's around USD 180. Amazon sells the same for USD 109 inclusive of shipping to Thailand. Now that leaves room for tax, they ship only via "international courier" so it will be taxed but how much. Anyone with recent experience ? Note, there is instant USD 10 off if you sign in some store card in Amazon...
MJo
Ok, so Amazon adds all before confirming purchase. This is their quote for Thailand so looks like read.in $180 is close. Although it's "deposit" but not expecting to get anything back on that... Items:USD 109.00 Shipping & Handling:USD 20.98 Total Before Tax:USD 129.98 Estimated Tax To Be Collected:USD 0.00 Import Fees DepositUSD 45.56Order Total: USD 175.

Also delivery took less than a week so I can't see any benefit at all in buying it inside of Thailand instead of direct from Amazon. MJo
Thanks for the info, looks like Amazon is doing it right. Read the posts on hardware import and ordered Kindle Touch WiFi from ebay. $109 + 39.99 for USPS Express Mail International. Recon there is small chance of no duties or bit lower handling fees locally than UPS, Fedex etc, Any case even with 50 bucks duties still ok, same range as basic model locally so happy with that.
