Zimovane/Zopiclone In Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello all, first time poster!

Will start off with that this is a great forum! Right now i live in Hua Hin. But i have a problem. Back home i took medicine called Imovane also known as Zimovane/Zopiclone in Thailand.

And i really need more of it becuase running a company and not be able to sleep is not good for the company to say the least.

Been Pharmacy and Hospitals. Pharmacy gives me something i puke off (Allam i think it's called) Worst shit ever. And the doctor prescribed me something he said where Zopiclone but turned out to be the weakest medicine ever, and Imovane isn't strong whatsoever.

I would like to know anyone that knows a place in Thailand where i could get these, under counter or from private doctor, my life is a train-wreck right now (Been using Imovane past 4 years from my Swedish doctor, please don't ask why)

And please don't tell me to use something else because it's just that medicine I'm looking for as it worked for me for several year.

I REALLY need your help on this.

All help is welcomed.

Best Regards

Someone who left everything behind and started a company in Thailand (27 years)

Zopiclone and Zimovane is not the same type of medication. Zimovane is an antispasmodic while Zopiclone is the Imovane (hypnotic agents) equivalent available here in Thailand according to the MIMS search.

Doctors and hospitals in Thailand are notoriously reluctant to prescribe any hypnotics or scheduled pain medication as a search on this forum will confirm. Best to try and find a physician which will most likely have to be a psychiatrist in the local environment and ask for a prescription. Unfortunately, those specialists and English speaking, will mostly be at the major Bangkok hospitals such as Samitivej, Bumrungrad or Bangkok hospital.

On a cautionary note; obtaining and having these kind of scheduled drugs in Thailand without a prescription is illegal.

Schepp,

Make sure you write/ email your Doctor in Sweden to get written advise of necessity of Imovane.

You do need a prescription.

A google search of Imovane will reveal sources, but you can bet on the weakened polluted variety which you were given

in Thailand .

Others may be able to advise you whether a foreign prescription will stand up well in Thailand.

I take 'Seroquel' and an extended stay in Thailand this year saw me having to cut dosage drastically to last the distance.

No person would prescribe to me, [including Bumrungrad hospital] even though I had proper certification from New Zealand.

On the other hand I could buy enough 'Tramidol' for my crook back to make Jumbo the aged elephant dance again.

Good fortune with your business,
