What To Do New Years Eve In Rawai?

Featured Replies

what's going on in Rawai area?

where are the best firework places?

any live music?

BTW i'm not really interested in some guy putting a CD on really loud and calling it music

thx

Mostly Private Parties or Pre-Bought Ticket events at the Resorts for the best Music & Fireworks. For Balloon Chasers though I am sure some of the smaller venues will have some guy playing a guitar and a few Bangers. There may be a few Tickets left for Friendship Beach or 808 etc but you are leaving it a bit late to go to an organised event.

What about sitting in a restaurant along the Rawai beachfront? Do they have fireworks there?

i was thinking rawai beech front anyhow but it would be nice to know of a place where something was going on for sure

I'm riding over to Karon beach for the digital music festival on the 30th and 31st.

Fireworks, beer and ladies.

Best get out of Rawai/Nai Harn and go elsewhere - was there for last 2 years and 'little bit boring' to say the least - have fun

Karon Beach should be very popular. I was there today and they tested the music around 8 and it sounded good.

Its going to be amazing.

They are expecting 5000+ down there so it will be pumping.

do you have any more details? is it actually on the beach? do you need to buy tickets? is it just DJs or are there live bands too?

Looks to be free, there's lights set up to point down to the beach and water. Two stages are set up on opposite ends with one supposedly house/techno music, while the other stage is hip hop. Reported hours are 7 pm until 6 am. I feel sorry for those tourists staying close by wanting to sleep before 6 am.

Volleyballers are going to need to get the rakes out after that, going to be a lot of crap in the sand afterwards.

Live music and free buffet at the Freebird Bar in Rawai on New Year's Eve.

Gig will be entertaining the crowd with her excellent vocals + backing band. If you've never heard her sing, give yourselves a real treat and mosey on down to the Freebird on the 31st.

You obviously went to the wrong places, there's always been live music in Rawai at New Years Eve. Where did you look?

Wasn't looking for live music - Nai Harn beach looked OK, but rest of area was pretty boring - ended up in Tamarind Bar - same people that go there every day

All depends what OP is looking for but will not find Thai new year on Phuket - tooooooooooo many farangs
