6 - 3 to Glasgow against the holders, Leinster, at Fir Hill, Glasgow the more ambitious of the two sides...

Edit: and Leinster go through 26 phases to win a five metre scrum after Richie Gray gets his arm between the ball and the post..."and Glasgow pinch obne against the head against this formidable eight of Leinster"

And a line out and still Leinster on Glasgow's ten-metre line

"Sustained pressure here from Leinster" - and sustained defence as well,... a minute to half time

and I suppose it was bound to come sooner or later - penalty after the 40th minute to Leinster.... McFadyen on the 22, most of the way out to the touch line - and its 6-6 bat half time.

EDIT: Bloody Danish gets... I went to get a Carlsberg out the fridge, and Leinster score... Glasgow 6 - 13 Leinster "and Sean Lineen will be disgusted, that was a very soft try".

Firhill , now that name ring a bell .

Edit ; That never rang .

No, you're right, its Firhill.

EDIT

"Behind the back feet, please". When do soccer referees get the opportunity to be so polite?

EDIT

And Galsgow kick for touch, and go over right in the corner "and the crowd will tell you, that conversion brings them level" 16 - 16

"Certainly the Glasgow tails are up" with 15 minutes to go "Leinster have upped the pace.. they;'re not champions for nothing"

... and Leinster have scored during the commercial break - lucky the referee didn't have to refer it to the TMO...

And Leinster have their number 6 sent off, with less than five minutes to go... "Scott Wright is inches short... cool heads required"

Five metre scrum to Glasgow... though still seven points behind....

and Johnnie Beattie penalised for holding on, and "the clock is Leinster's friend"

and Johnny Sexton boots the ball out of play "a good performance - a winning performance - from Leinster" and Leinster are assured of a place in the Quarter Finals, while I think Glasgow are unlikely to join them...

Polite aplause from afar .

So it looks like Glasgow will be the second-placed side that misses out on European rugby; still a better result than last year, I think, and they can 'concentrate on the league'

A good game against the European champions, but bot good enough.

So contrary to what it said on the web site schedule, Astro are showing Leinster - Montpelier rather than Bath - Glasgow; and the BBC internet radio commentary is only available in the UK...

So I'm sat watching the other game with the latest scores page open for the Bath Glasgow game; Glasgow have taken a one-point lead with about fifteen minutes to go. Depending on other results this weekend, a win might see Glasgow into the Amlin Cup Quarter Finals...

SC

EDIT: and while I typed that, Bath recovered the lead - 20:18

and it ends 23-18, Glasgow out of European rugby...

In a nail-biting finish, Treviso seeking their first win over English premiership opposition since 2004 take a penalty scrum about seven metres out from the Saracens line, trailing by six points...

Saracens force them back over the 22, its a penalty to saracens and that is it... home advantage to Saracens, and Cardiff and Edinburgh both need to win to be sure of getting through to the quarter finals; unfortunately neither game on Astro...

Out of interest, does anyone have any suggestions for why the English fared so badly in the Heineken Cup?

Only one team (Saracens) through to the Quarter-Finals, compared to three from Ireland...

Possibly a bit of a pointer for the Six Nations?
