Snake In Back Yard - Who To Call?

Featured Replies

Topic title says it all - 1.5m thin black snake trapped in our rear courtyard (Patong). Is there a ranger service or similar to ge trid of him?

Thanks - Ping

Read the pinned numbers thread above. I got this one from there. Snake Rescue/Capture 076-283 346/076-283 347

^Thanks - hadn't seen that. Tried both numbers and neither answering, but will keep trying.

Why not just make yourself a snake catcher,

Use about 2 meters of 25mm electrical conduit or water pipe

Get about 5 meters of that plastic strapping they use to strap stuff to paletts.

Thread through the conduit so you have a loop on one end and the other two ends in your hand.

Put loop over snakes head and pull gently (dont want to take his head off)

Then re-locate him.

He's gone - must have slithered down a drain hole, which is probably where he came in. That's my excitement for the day...

Good way to get bitten, better to leave them alone and they will go away

The number I was given when I had a large snake in my backyard in Patong was 1669.

Didn't use it at the time.

Get a dog. I'm not in Phuket, by my Akita gets a couple a year.

Most snakes aren't poisoness.reach in and grab him

Call anyone from Isaan, it will make a nice meal...

Unfortunately sometimes the snake wins, once lost a beloved bulldog that way.
