Thai Character Url - Where To Register?

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to register a UTF 8 Thai character website domain, something like www.เว็บไซต์.com. I know these exist / possible to do, but don't know where to register. I normally use Godaddy for registrations, but they don't support this.

Anyone else done this, and can recommend a registrar?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to register IDN at GoDaddy.com but you may need the punycode instead of the Thai characters.

In the case of website เว็บไซต์ it would be xn--c3cun5c2g0at8b

Any problems try Dynadot.com where you can use either xn--c3cun5c2g0at8b or เว็บไซต์ to search for availability, however if you are trying to register any Thai IDN of any significance you will probably find it went some years ago.

You need the "special" search page to register IDN at GoDaddy.com

HERE

Dynadot.com is much easier.

FYI เว็บไซต์.com (Website.com) was registered in 2004!

Thanks Baz, and Thailand. Useful information for sure.

I only used www.เว็บไซต์.com to be generic here on the forum. I'm actually looking to register a specific company name that doesn't resolve yet, so no problem there!

Rgds,

thnic.co.th is the one we use, very simple, quick and easy
