Was driving my wifes one year old Honda City the other day and was surprised that when I braked hard there was an unusual shudder. Almost as though the caliper was jumping. I now worry that under an emergency stop they may fail.

No doubt I'll get this checked at it's next service. But was wondering if others had experienced the same thing. And maybe other City owners should have their brakes checked. It only happens under heavy braking.

Sounds like ABS system pulsating BUT take it in for a check up. jap.gif

Thanks Transam. Your right, it could be ABS. Wasn't aware it had it. I remember having the same issues on Fortuna. It's a bit disconcerting if your not familiar with how it works. But just in case I'll get it checked out anyway. Thanks again

First time I experienced ABS on the Vigo I thought it was going to fall apart. biggrin.png

Is that a new V8 picture ?

Could also be that the discs are warped.

perform an emergency stop somewhere safe; really stand on the breaks so that you do activate the ABS.

I've experienced both, and they don't feel the same.

Easy test for warped disc(s) is to drive and just touch the brake pedal very lightly and you will feel the pedal move up and down slightly cos of distortion, if they are naff.
