South Pattaya bars raided by Region 2 Police

PATTAYA: -- Region 2 Police were out-in-force in the early hours of Saturday on Walking Street in South Pattaya in search of underage bar workers and foreign nationals working in bars in contravention of Thai Immigration and Labor laws.

The operation was led by Police Lieutenant General Panya, Commissioner of Region 2 Police who explained that officers had received a tip-off that two bars in the area were employing underage and foreign bar workers.

The main focus of attention was on Silver Star Go-Go Bar where officers detained 20 people, 9 workers under the age of 18, 9 workers from Laos who did not possess work permits and two managers

Please note. These were heterosexual bars. These bars were not in Sunee Plaza. In future, don't even try to suggest, as always happens every time there is a homosexual bar oriented bust or raid (the last one in Sunee didn't even net one underage violation), that this is only a gay/Sunee Plaza issue. I hereby suggest that the heterosexual nightlife district raided last night NOT be torn down to the ground to be replaced with new fish and chip shops and fish massage tanks.
