The Wahoo Thailand Sportfishing Competition 2-4th Feb was a great success 20 boats entered with Anglers from 18 different countries competing for a purse of 3 Million THB. 8 Marlin were hooked but not brought to the boat although Sails were Tagged and released. Wahoo Dorado GT's Tuna all won catagories.

Initial response is that all are coming back and all the main sponsors have agreed to do it again next year. We are looking at 4 million + THB and up to 40 boats next year. A first for Asia and hopefully it will just get bigger and better every year.

I do like the Paradise Bar. Was very interesting to so see the antoginists.. 90% of the club is happy!

The RBFC is bringing a great new venue to Phuket. It has such a positive impact on tourism. I have observed and fished in a number of the Big Ones and when they grow the bucks his the floor running. One in Jamaica fills Mo Bay, Kona is a world premier tourney where some boats are brough in on freighters etc. I had read/heard that there weren't enought boats to make it a big thingo. Firstly there are if you go to Krabi, Phi Phi etc. Please don't forget that it is not only the tourney but Phuket belongs on the world fishing map and THE way is thru a tourney. The goal for next year is big but realistic. I think you'll see some immediate results with changes in fishing programs and the Club member drive!

What a fine bunch of gents!
