I am considering to do a border run to Sadao in April. Can I just cross the border and immediately turn back, get stamped and go back home? Do I need any particular documents alongside my passport?

Sorry if the question seems to be odd, but not sure about this.

You need your passport.

Stamp out of Thailand and enter Malaysia. Get stamped in, turn round and get stamped out.

Enter and get stamped back into Thailand. 90 Days.

As stated just passport, done that one many times, about 1k from Thai immigration down to Malaysian immigration. good duty free inbetween. motorbike taxi's will nip you down or its not a bad walk. i have occasionally driven down, simply done a u turn the other side and come out, then nip into the duty free.

Free and just 2 small stamps from the Malaysians.

http://wikitravel.org/en/Sadao a bit complicated first time as you have to drive through old abandoned immigration at Sadao to get to Danok, but this explains. Danok not bad for a night outdrunk.gif

edit have to fill a form in, inside the malay immigration but quite straight forwards, good to have a pen handy
