webfact Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Lampang Monk Disrobed After Being Discovered in Bed with Woman LAMPANG: -- A famous monk, who's the head monk of the Tung Ngam Subdistrict in Lampang, was disrobed after being found in bed with a woman. Around 200 villagers surrounded the 45-year-old Phra Kru Wisit Sathukarn's 10-million baht golden teak wood accommodation late at night at Ban Mua Temple earlier this week to catch him in bed with a woman. Upon opening the door to his bedroom, villagers found him naked in bed with 35-year-old Saipin Chumti which resulted in an immediate disrobing of the monk. Villagers said they've suspected his sexual activities for quite some time and have even asked his relatives to warn him to stop but he refused to listen to them so they had to take matters into their own hands and catch him in the act. The monk confessed to being sexually involved with the woman for over a year and apologized to the villagers for betraying their trust. The following day the elderly in the village conducted a ceremony to ward off misfortune from the monk's behavior. The monk is a famous preacher with a lot of followers. He did so well with donations that he was able to construct a golden teak wood accommodation for himself with a budget of 10 million baht. He entered the monkhood since the age of 12 and has always been at the Ban Mua Temple until he was named the head monk of the subdistrict. The woman in question lived close to the temple and started her affair with the monk after being separated from her husband. Translated from Thairath -- Tan Network 2012-02-16 1

Popular Post laurentbkk Posted February 16, 2012 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2012 They are monks , priest but also men ... very hard to resist to some "natural calls" . 4
Popular Post Reasonableman Posted February 16, 2012 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2012 A monk with a 10 million Baht mansion! How absurd. A flagrant betrayal of the principles of Buddhism and the local population, bringing the priesthood into shame and disrepute. It looks like embezzlement was also involved. Isn't that illegal? 8
samsiam Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Sounds like he was already disrobed Maybe she was kinky like that...
slapout Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Never play a fiddle with the devil, both cannot win.
Popular Post harrycallahan Posted February 16, 2012 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2012 It's good to be the head monk. 7
Popular Post alant Posted February 16, 2012 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2012 once again the futility of prohibition is shown 3
daak Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 wasn't he already disrobed? Yes according to our Vinaua ( Monks rules) when a Bhikkhu penetrates the orrafic of woman, man, animal to the extent of a sesame sead he is automaticly disrobed. But as in this case, so many will cover it up (remain silent) to others.
Reasonableman Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 once again the futility of prohibition is shown and the perils of anarchy, lack of principle, and commitment, I guess
samsiam Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 What about the 10 mil teak house ?? Bet he had a lava lamp in the chamber also...
DocN Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 10 Millions? Not bad for a man who should be free of any worldly possessions....
geovalin Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Sounds like he was already disrobed No, his fantasy was to make love in this attire. And maybe the 35 years old woman wore a Japanese school girl uniform. Moderator, if you are disgusted, you can delete. :-) 1
Fatherfluffybottom Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 she was in it for his money!!!!!!! 2
daak Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Never play a fiddle with the devil, both cannot win. Neither Wins / just like this ex-monk who held his secret to others but of course he still knows. So Kamma gets all!!!
RichardinBKK Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Well, two consenting adults were caught breaking the rules, and he has lost his high position....rightly so. With the never ending news about pedophiles in other houses of worship being coddled, protected and kept in the flock...this is actually a refreshing story. It is of some interest to me that his name is missing from the story... 10,000 M in a village full of poor hard working people...that is the real insult. 2
red1green0 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Best check that monk in Central Thailand that has the 50 million baht Bentley.
khaowong1 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 This monk makes us all look bad. But of course it happens. The Buddha always cautioned his monks about their dealings with women, saying that women were the #1 problem monks will have in their practice. This Phra Kru isn't the first and most definitly won't be the last to fall due to lust.

Popular Post Yoknapatawpha Posted February 16, 2012 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2012 at least he was with a WOMAN, which is far better than some Catholic monks have been doing... 3

Not the religion, but maybe some in the religion that allow this to happen or turn a blind eye to the conditions developing that facilitate it
shadiadi Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 At least she was human some other stories I have read like this in the past in this country involved beasts lol
dindong Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 at least he was with a WOMAN, which is far better than some Catholic monks have been doing... Why, would it be worse if he was with a man? also wonder if he will give the house back to the people.
red1green0 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Remember the hidden video footage of a monk being, ahem, 'intimate' with a few soi dogs a few years back. They suspected he was with a woman, which he was, although he wasn't being fully faithful to her... species.
cdnski12 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 at least he was with a WOMAN, which is far better than some Catholic monks have been doing... Not to mention the Canadian Bishop caught by the Canuck Customs returning from Pattaya, c/w a suitcase full of pornographic discs of young boys undergoing sexual exploitation. The Bishop retired. I don't think he suffered any more retribution. Probably now living on his RC Pension full time in Pattaya?
Popular Post dalsobrook Posted February 16, 2012 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2012 I am never going to understand why any religion would ask a man or woman to exist without having sex. It is natural and we were made to do it. If we were not intended to have sex we would not have been born with the parts or the urges. 5
happysanook Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 he can just go to the next village and start up anew... no problem.
