Thai Health Guru Alternative Therapy?

Featured Replies

This question is a bit left of centre but does anyone know of a Thai health guru who can diagnose unexplained medical problems?

I’ve had this one major problem for 9 years relating to neck glands and I’ve seen over 100 Western doctors about it who can’t even diagnose the problem.

I don’t care what methods the Thai doctor might use to investigate, whether it witchcraft or hocus pocus, I just want to know the cause of the problem. It might be one step closer to fixing it. I don’t suppose anyone has any recommendations?

If you want something in the middle, the St.Louis Hospital on Sathorn near the Surasak BTS station has a Chinese medicine clinic. They might have a different perspective than solely Western-trained medical doctors?

It would help to know more about the problem. If long-standing enlargement of lymph nodes in the neck, extrapulmonary TB immediately comes to mind and is fairly rare in the West.

Sheryl, thanks for your diagnosis. I looked up extrapulmonary TB and I don't think I have it. Although I do think it could be some sort of long term viral infection. The symptom is swollen submandibular glands. It's very frustrating to have a physiological problem for 9 years with no explanation for it.

Are the enlarged nodes painful?

I think painful is something like a stab from a knife, so I would say no.

Perhaps unpleasant would be an apt description.
