Buying Sr44 Batteries - Urgent

Featured Replies

I live in Mae Sot and am unable to find SR44 batteries here. It wasn't urgent until I decided to take a rather last-minute trip and I like to have spares just in case. I will be in Bangkok on Tuesday only to get my visa, and was hoping there was somewhere convenient (i.e. near a BTS stop) to buy some. Can someone direct me? Thanks so much.

I would have thought SR44 batteries should be quite common and can be found in any camera shop

possibly even 7/11?

I see them all the time in Tesco Lotus. They are carrying more of different kinds of batteries now. Look for them close to the computer accessories area.

I'll give Tesco in Mae Sot a try. Definitely never seen them at 7-11, at least in Mae Sot! Anyway, while in Bangkok for 1 day I went to Fotofile & Power Buy in MBK, and then a photo lab near the Saladaeng stop. Nothing. Only LR44s--as in astral's photo above--which are definitely not the same (alkaline rather than silver oxide). I've emailed the owner of Camera Collection for some advice as well. Thanks, and if anyone else has seen them please do let me know!

Actually the A76/LR44 Alkaline should work. I would just carry a few - they are not as powerful so may fail or die sooner but in most cases believe they work fine (and at much less cost).

I did buy a pair but I really prefer SR44. I would worry about the LR44s messing with my meter. It's OK, I can get them sent to me from home, but it would be great to know if there was a local option.
