Disbanding Move Forward Could Endanger Thailand’s Bid for UNHRC Membership
A few weeks ago, I was hounded by some, on here, because I mention Thailand was in breach of UN Article 19, well guys, this from the above article, backs my comment. "Thailand’s previous attempt to secure a UNHRC seat failed due to the diplomatic fallout from the 2014 coup and subsequent increases in human rights violations, including the misuse of the lèse majesté law to target political opponents. Chamnan suggested that dissolving the Move Forward party could hinder Thailand's current bid." I await an apology, thoughj I won't get one... more like I'll be again hounded. -

If you have surgery and you're cut open, do you expect the doc to wear a mask or should he not bother? If you're willing to do the experiment, I can just make a small incision and won't spit too much. -

BREAKING NEWS 60-day visa exemptions are now unlimited at land borders
This change should have been worded more like this.... "The limit of 2 visa exempt entries via land per calendar year has been removed" That brings it into line with VE via air. No stated limit. Are folk able to have continuous stay in Thailand ongoing using VE via air possible. Answer : No Will folk now be able to border bounce every 90 days (60+ extension) ongoing. Answer: No- 1

Enter on Thai Passport leave on non-Thai passport : Is this allowed ?
Thai citizen can enter on expired passport or ID card, it's their rights, nothing illegal about that, but if you didn't get the new Thai passport in time and try to leave on the British passport, that British identity has no record of entering Thailand, hence problem the custody dispute thing is from the perspective of immigration officer, if you were to use emergency travel documents, why is this person taking their child out using convoluted process when thai passport can be issued with relative ease unless there's something fishy about the child not being able to get thai passport -

What's the Most Surprising Thing You've Learned About Living in Thailand?
That despite the apparent liberalism of the tourist areas, the country as a whole is very conservative. -

What's the Most Surprising Thing You've Learned About Living in Thailand?
I've learned how unappreciative and indifferent Thailand is towards foreign expat presence. It is perfectly legal and acceptable for industries to discriminate against us foreigners. Not simply tourists, but those who have lived years in Thailand, have family in Thailand. Not simply for National Park entrance fees (which can add up to consider both sums with a long stay), but more importantly the hospitals which are already prone to gouge us - fully legal and allowed. Whining and complaining about revenue sources from abroad yet completely ignore our contribution. This is born out by the fact how difficult it is to conduct any personal business from banking to the government dealings. Even a bringing in as little as b40,000 pm is still double that of a typical wage earning Thai. Therefore the contribution is double that of perhaps 65% of the country. Foreigners are disallowed from owning a tiny plot of land and home despite Thailand providing and will be success for these individuals to be in country. All visas without exception are non-immigrant. It is virtually impossible to get permanent residency and especially citizenship. All sorts of stupid and ridiculous barriers are set up to sabotage the effort. It's basically old retirees and expatriots with exceptionally well paying jobs that can take a stab at PR and citizenship. It seems almost since the beginning of the entrance of Chinese into the tourist market Thailand has been beset with all sorts of criminal and cultural problems. Including a pervasive kidnapping problem as well as call centers. Only love here. Thailand continues to lower the barrier of entry to the country for these people. Starting a business since ridiculously complicated and needlessly expensive. It is impossible to now gain Thai government insurance for a former teachers unless that person can be placed in a yellow book which means they must be for their spouse must be a homeowner. We often support wives that many have been cast off in marriages as well as their children. Despite smelling like a rose and dressed well the last empty seat on any transport conveyance will be next to us.. the farang Now, the tax bullsxx+, tax worldwide income.. A case in point to the jingoism: recently there was banter about condo ownership/ raising the quota of foreigners. The typical yellow shirts came out... Xenophobia and jingoism ... The actual fact of the matter is that not one more Foreigner will be added to the condo rolls due to this adjustment. There are scant few condos in which foreigners are bumping up against the limit. I would argue further that these are condos in which ties would NEVER want to live in anyway If I wasn't married I would be out of here in a flash. As an expatriate of some nearly 35 years I would entirely discourage anyone from setting down roots in this country. It's only going to get worse.- 1

The Investing Year Ahead
Commentators now saying that the markets melt down is merely a reaction to end of the large scale carry trade involving YEN and not much to do with the US economy at all. The Nikkei is up 13% this morning. That seems more plausible to me.
