I can't remember seeing this video before, although I have read of this dear old ladies plight. It is doing the round on facebook. Not sure if the video will be shown or just the link, anyway for anyone who hasn't seen it.

'Do the RIGHT thing - it's a burning INJUSTICE' May under pressure to END pension FREEZE

THERESA May is to be urged to “do the right thing” and end the historic injustice of freezing the state pension of British pensioners who move abroad denying them thousands of pounds. The message is due to be delivered by 93-year-old Ane Puckridge, a Second World War veteran who has the rare distinction of serving in all three branches of the armed services.

How many Brits that are resident in Thailand and currently up in arms re 'pension letters' have bothered to sign up to the consortium fighting the injustice of frozen pensions? By signing up I mean paid to join/actively support rather that just taking a look at their FB now and then.

Mods: Hows that for a suggestion re a survey?

I find this unbelievable. You Brits payed for a service. I paid Zurich, they dont tell me where i can spend my investment. Plus i got a far better return. If you were aware of this i doubt if anyone would have chosen to use the Brit system. Plus my Wife get all my Pension when im gone.It borders on Common Theft to me.

yes there was...But the government stated that the 'employers contribution'...Which in reality is also paid/earned by the 'employee' would still be collected by the government and could not be used for any personal pension the contracted out worker paid into...It was just a scam to scam the workers...the N.I.S scheme was a scam from the start. The single childless worker paid most into this scam.

It’s a scandal that Uk pensioners in foreign countries dont get upgraded! It’s a pittance in the whole pension bucket, and people worked toboay into this but It’s something the political parties agree on, just the same as overseas aid of 13 billion £ a year is enshrined in law! No respect for other than a handful of MPs. I was involved in a political party for 14 years in UK, met various MPs and most of them were fake and only interested in their own future !

where he will receive some sort of benefit

When you sit with pensioners here, twice a week from the Americas, EU and Ozz, hear their stories. the more shure that my advice to all young folks is right.Get in a Swiss Bank pension plan early for whatever you can afford.

As Jim P noted the frozen pensions campaign seems to be gaining traction - https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45971266. As frozen pensions are unjust, and as the campaign is only fighting inertia, the more publicity the better. I am very grateful that a 93-year-old woman is getting on a plane and travelling to see the opportunists in parliament, I'm not sure I would bother. Good luck to the campaign that could benefit us all.

All those leaches in Parliament care about is votes, they are not interested in right and wrong. They may voice support, but nothing will be changing anytime soon.

My understanding is that Anne Puckridge, our 93 year old representative living in Canada will be having interviews with the Financial Times, on ITV's Breakfast Programme, BBC 2's Jeremy Vine current afairs programme, meeting with members of parliament and delivering the petition to 10 Downing Street. As with most schedules things can change. Well done, Anne, our determined and courageous POP founder member and to her daughter Gillian for helping lead the way!

I'm looking forward to hearing how Annie and the consortium fare at Downing St this afternoon...

MP’s do not get their pensions frozen no-matter where they live.

What relevance does anyone's occupational pension have to the thread?

For more see ICBP & BPiA FB pages & keep an eye on UK media outlets as today the team in UK are undertaking the interview merry-go-round and no 10 (...& my money is on PMQs public gallery too!).

Now might be a good time to sign up if any Thailand-based Brits haven't yet done so.
