Any Other Non-Profit Hospitals Like Saint Louis In Bkk

Featured Replies

Hi

I usually go to Saint Louis Hospital in BKK and I am very happy with the service ,

but I would like to have a "back up" hospital for 2nd opinions etc

Are there other non-profit hospitals with good service , decent prices (not 2 tier ) and not the long waits like at a Government hospital.

Thanks for your ideas

BK

Been going to St Louis for over 10 years. Never needed a second opinion their Drs are second to none.

Diagnosed stenosis of the spine which I had been to UK hospitals about many times and they never found it.

Operated on my spine within 2 weeks. If in the UK I would still be waiting for MRI let alone the operation. They had me back on my feet within 24 Hrs and back home within a week.

Never let me down yet.

If you doubt one Dr there are others you can request a consultation with.

thanks for your reply ,

I just doubt doctors, Thai Doctors more than other because they love to hand out medicines....

But mostly I believe any Doctor and especally a Thai Doctor (save face) would not like to make a bad comment about another doctor they know.....

So another hospital seems like a good idea....

But this is not a slam on St Louis , I am VERY happy with the service there and actually am going in a day or 2

There are other non-profits as follows but most are much smaller than St Louis:

Bangkok Christian (on Silom)

Camellian (on Thong Lor)

Adventists Mission Hospital (around Lan Luang)

Another good place to keep in mind is the "after hours" clinic at Chula where you can access some of their best specialists on a semi-private basis, costs will be lower than the non-profit hosps or but waits and bureaucracy a bit more.

Is this part of Chula University ? and where is it located ?

I have a friend that has a bad knee and is getting conflicting information on what is wrong with her ,

its been bad for 6 years off and on and the "New" doctor thinks that the old treatment was wrong,

It would be nice to get her to some of their best specialists and figure out what is really wrong

Thanks for the information

Yes, it is Chulalonghorn. Main OPD building. The 'nawk wela" clinic is on I think the 12th or 14th floor, you have to register first to get a patient card so ask at reception (bring Thai speaker if you don't speak Thai). Opens at I think about 4 PM. Best to go directly up there to make appointment which might or might not be for that same evening.
