Ayutthaya Trains

Featured Replies

I want to take the train to Ayutthuya on Saturday, understand they are 3rd class just turn up and get on types that run every hour or so.

Can anyone tell me when the last one back to Bangkok leaves? Tried looking at the State Railway website but not much information on there that helps me...

Thanks

There are Rapids at 19:05, 19:14 and a Special at 21:46. The next train after that is a Rapid at 01:14.

If they don't suit you, there's always the bus to Morchit.

I find this website easier to sue than the Government one

Thanks I sue that one too, but it doesnt show the time for the last train back.

The 16:37 from Ubon Ratchatani will suffice though.

Thanks everyone.

were you not banned from the thorntree? too much of bad lingo?

These trains do NOT run hourly-thats very, very old incorrect LPinfo, but rather haphazard. ANd the further they come from-like Ubol, the later they tend to be. The expreses etc do not have 3d cl. ONLY the normal=rot thamada cost 15 bt for 3d cl-for farang, free for Thai, you also pay the 50/70 bt exprestrain surcharge. There are also a fair lot in the night-arr in BKk by 5.00- for the really latestays in Ayuttaya.

I took the 11:20 this morning. Free for Thais, 15 baht for tourists. I say tourists and not foreigners because I showed them a copy of my work permit and they didnt charge me. There was also one at around 10am but that was a Diesel express and cost 315 baht or something around that amount.
