Never mind W11Guy, he doesn't know better!

The air quality in Bangkok is bad all year round.

The best way to protect yourself is to get as many anti-oxidants as you can either through supplements or through nutrition.

Beta Carotene, Vitamin E, C and Selenium will make a world of difference.

It's more seasonal though is it hasn't rained significantly in 6 months and good air rinsing rain is required along with some nice ozone producing lightning..

Up to you if to wear a mask, depending on the mask not sure how much dif it would make..

A/C reduces pollution to some extent as it recycles interior air which goes through a filter but then there is the threat of interior pollution and which is more damaging. We have our windows open daily and we have been suffering from serious allergies this year but need to keep down the electric bills.

I always had sore throats when I lived in BKK. But I think it also depends on where you are. Certain parts are worse than others, obviously. Especially under the skytrain where all that stuff gets trapped and there's no breeze! Yuck.

I'm finding the air pollution especially bad at the moment. It seems to be the season to clear land by burning it off and coupled with the insane heat we've been having, down our way on BangNa Trad it is not very nice. Sat was unbearable until the storms came in the afternoon. Spent most of the day inside with the aircon on to get away from it. Took the dog for a walk around 3pm and even she looked at me with a 'you must be f&^king kidding' look.....

If you wear a mask you will be only 1 in a million who do...everyone else seems to get by ok here, i havent noticed anyone falling to there knees holding there throats when im out and about...
