I am looking for a supplier of teak wood furniture for wardrobes, chairs , ouside tables, consol tables, bed side cabinets etc etc

For a private house.

Pls if any one has any experiences or references kindly let me know,

Not looking for super expensive ..

As I udnerstand to order from north may be more cost effective solution.

First question, you mention teak, what do you mean by teak, do you know the difference between, mai daeng, mai sak and mai makka?

Have you considered mai pradoo (rubber tree wood)?

You mention a supplier, do you mean a supplier of wood that you buy and have someone custom make your furniture, or do mean a shop selling furniture?

You mention expensive, mai pradoo may be your best option.

No mention of where you are, if in Bangkok, go to Fashion Island shopping mall.

Go to the exit of Home Pro on the ground floor, exit HP and turn right, on your LH side you will see a Siam Commercial bank, right next to it is a store selling mai pradoo furniture, the name of the shop is KT Furniture.

The furniture is of good quality and way better than the usual names to be found in the shopping malls.

Prices that spring to mind are, double bed king size, about 25k, wardrobe about 30k, bedside table/cabinets about 6 or 8 k.

Sorry cant remember too may details.

Bear in mind the above shop isnt for the Ikea aficionados.

You have other options, such as Seacon Square, 3rd or 4th floor, look for the smaller indepenent stores, the prices are usually in line with the MDF junk sold by other suppliers.

Your final option would be to have the furniture custom made, your problem is getting someone to build it for you, these people are usually always busy and in demand.

The prices charged will be slightly more expensive than the shops, but you will be in possesion of custom made quality products.

Bear in mind these people arent charging Issan labour wages of 300 baht per day, a daily rate of 3,000 baht is not uncommon.

The mrs and I had the same problems, we chose the custom made option.

Personally I would never order anything I hadnt seen with my own eyes and inspected, there is a lot of junk sold on line, up to you.
