If I like to buy a house/land or car, what is the best way to do ?

I know very well foreigners can not own land in Thailand, but is it possible to have a company to own the land ? Same with own a car, let the company own the car and I use it. Possible ?

I know some foriegners they buy a company and let the company own the house or condo, is it any big problem to do so ? Car same ?

Alot of people put their girlfriend or wife on the papers but is it possible to make it via a company that I can be the owner of? ( I know maximum 49% and the other 51% own by Thai)

Please let me know best sollution or if there is anywhere in this Forum to read more about it.

Creation of a company for the sole purpose of owning land is illegal. People still do it, but the law says you're not supposed to do it. If you go that route be prepared for some risk. As has been said, condo is legal for you to own, car is legal for you to own.

Car no bi problem. Condo same. House and land I know and will be in wifes name with a lease if something unexpected happends.

Maybe some more searching on the site is needed.

If you are indeed married, there is a lot written here about the lease being null and void or voidable due to the fact that you are indeed married.

Maybe try searching over in the Real Estate section of this Forum.

EDIT

Have a read of TommoPhysicist makes some good points in Post #23

For my 10p worth.

My advice to any Falang is to rent rather than buy in Thailand. Some kind posters told me it was not a good idea to buy until you realise how and why things work the way they do in Thailand. It has proved excellent advice so far. Although I am still in England at the moment finalising my business.

I try not to involve myself in the Politics of the UK, let alone Thailand, I swear allegance to the Queen Elizabeth II, but also the the King of Thailand, by virtue of my Wife and Son, but I have no wish to involve myself in political affairs.

Buy property and car ownership forces you to become involved in political affairs because like it or not, things will not be straight forward and before long, you will be seeking a change to a law that works against you and that is when you start to resent the new country you have just moved to.

Simply rent a house and hire a car or moped. If you dont like it you can leave at the drop of a hat and thank them for their hospitality.

I would like to add a big thank you to those enlightened posters and moderators who have certainly helped me and opened my eyes. Thank you.

^^ To be absolutely safe and politically correct (and not involved, God forbid) you should rent your wife as well. What a lot of <deleted> !

While I agree that you should never put all your eggs in one basket, and doing your due dilligence, it is rather a craven approach many take to living here, especially if you are going to be here long term.

What an utterly absurd post. Could you please explain how buying a car gets you involved in the political affairs of Thailand?
