I am planning a trip to Malaysia, driving down and spending about 6 weeks touring with my own vehicle, which is registered here in Thailand. Does anybody have any information as to the cost of the car insurance,weekly, monthly (Third Party I believe) when I cross over the border? Is it possible to get insurance cover here in Thailand that will cover me in Malaysia, as I would obviously prefer to have fully comprehensive cover if at all possible?

You can buy the insurance at the border in Sadao. I think it is approx. 2800 B per month. You can also buy the plate number with

English letters same place as you get insurance.
