Hi,

I'm planning to cab down to Salaya and would just like to have a rough gauge of how much does it cost usually.

How does the highway toll and metered taxi fares addup in Thailand ?

Else, are there any other more straightforward of heading there, besides taking BTS to Victory Monument and change to bus?

Much appreciated for any help ! Thanks.

You can go the Outer Ring Road and up Kanchanapisek which will cost around 600 + expressway and airport taxi fee.

Or train to Siam, change to Wong Wian Yai(sp) then taxi 280 ish baht from there.

Or fast train to Phaya Thai and taxi over Rama 8 staying on the elevated all the way to 4km shy of Salaya which should be around 300 baht max.

if you get a taxi from arrivals then no airport taxi fee... i have never managed to get those robbing bastards at the taxi queue to use the meter.

Never had that problem at Swampy but often did at Don Muang so used to walk to the road.

OP There's really no point messing around with anything bar a cab going to Salaya.

Thanks people !

Its my first time to Thailand and travelling to a provincial area can be quite a challenge, ( language etc)

But I'll take note of the suggestions and roughly gauge that I'm not overcharged.Hopefully I can get a metered taxi :)

its 30km from Asoke (Central Bangkok) - hardly provincial!! I live 5km from Salaya, I think you'll survive it.

Just out of interest why are you staying out there? Mahidol University? Girl? Buddy? SNAFU?

PM me if you ever need a contact for local info or help
