SGD
All very well saying that you can shout them down but when faced with some BiB threatening to beat you up, lock you up and then perhaps fit you up, you truly need huge cojones to face them down. piewarmer
Can a Music Lisence be obtained from the local Government office? My GF says no... but, as usual, she's only guessing.

That is correct Obtain here: http://www.mpcmusic.co.th/en/index.php?menu= Only Western music though, Thai music is more complicated with seperate licenses for the different recording labels ( Grammy, Sony Thailand etc...) skippie999
why aren't there clear rules what a bar or restaurant have to do to legally have music in their venue? what license should someone use to have music? there are many different licenses for prices vary from 3000 to 20000 thb and who knows what to chose? you read everywhere that these so called scam raids happen everywhere in Thailand. why so many fines all over and stories that owners of venues have to go in jail? are there any official rules about playing music legally?
