any one tried this

i downloaded the free 2 day trial not impressed software keeps crashing and very slow, maybe is my internet connection

no schedule available either, not convinced to pay for subscription or buy the set top box, could do with a record function also

maybe i'm doing something wrong or missing something

what's you views and experience of the package

The first thing you did wrong was not using the forum's search function.

There's more than a couple of threads discussing this already but, just for you, I've been using it without incident for a week now. You need a connection speed of more than 3Mbps to get a steady stream from their Thailand-based servers.

You can get around buying the set-top box by connecting your computer to a TV. It works well.

If it doesn't work well for you, don't buy the service.

Had a couple of minor problems with my 2 day trial which made me unsure about continuing but had an email saying their software has been updated to iron out any glitches and offered me another 2 day trial. Emails always answered promptly and also had a phone call from them to check everything is OK.

The schedule can easily be found using the BBC's, ITV's own website and there is also a useful delay option so you can watch things that are on in the evening UK time.

I tried the search function also and found nothing. I downloaded it for the 2 day trial and it works ok, am using 3bb 600 bht a month package which reckons its 3Mbps but not too sure.

I also do not like the lack of info on programmes and the +18 and + 6 channels are a bit confusing, I would think you would get the hang of it though and be able to schedule a few hrs veiwing of an evening, but would be nice if the info was on screen instead of refering to other websites.

Having said that the picture last night was fine with virtually no freezing so as long as there is no long tie in period will get the software package and give it a go for a couple of months.

3BB should be 7mb for 590baht per month, if they've not upgraded you then you should have a moan.

I like the look of this service very much and would get rid of my True package (with immense pleasure) in an instant, I just don't understand their channel delay policy. 12 hours I can sort of understand but 24 hours makes no sense at all because it doesn't take into account any kind of time difference between Thailand and the UK. In this respect surely an 18/19 hour delay makes the most sense - i.e you get to watch programmes at their intended timeslot, just a day later. Either that or a record function, although I suspect that would complicate their software capabilities significantly.

Regarding viewing programme schedules, I suggest going to the Radio Times website, clicking on the 'My channels' tab (top right of the listings) and customising the channel display to show only the 8 available from Thai Expat TV.

There is a 6hr and an 18hr delay option, perfect!

I've seen a number of posts on TV asking for clarification of the legality of this service, I haven't seen an answer yet, I accept I may have missed it.

I would be grateful if the operator of this service would confirm that they are fully licensed to operate this service.

Thank you

You'd be more likely to get an answer if you sent a PM or emailed the address on their website, they may not see your post here.

Great news. Pretty sure it says 12 and 24 hours on their website. I'll get the 2 day free trial and see how it goes.

All this just to get UK TV programming? Better to buy a cordless drill and a good 3/4" spade bit, and apply to your temple...cheesy.gif

I have had it installed, total cost was 17000thb. That was for the box, the installation, and 12 months subscription. It is by no means perfect but nor is true visions.
