Wanted: Wifi Upnp/Dlna Capable "Multimedia-Box"

Featured Replies

Hi,

any recommendations for a Wifi multimedia box with HDMI?

I want to playback my recordings from home (Euro 2012), which I download from Germany every night.

The files are mp4 and encoded in h.264/aac.

At the moment, I use a laptop to play them on my TV. But a multimedia box would be nice..

I have an old one, but this box (Traxdata multimedia drive), is "non-Wifi" and doesn't play h264, only divx.

I know, I could use a cheap Android device with HDMI, but the cheapest I saw was ~7000 Baht and has no remote.

I use a Mede8er and there's almost nothing it won't play (including h264). Not the cheapest box on the market but I'd swear by it.

Mine isn't wifi - there's a separate dongle for it that I didn't bother buying (it has ethernet, I still prefer to use wired, for some stuff, and wifi only for my laptop and phones).

You can try aliexpress. They're very cheap there.

I'm using Kakodos 103 with a wired connection because it doesn't have wifi. I'm sure they have a new model that's wifi enabled.
