Coconut Husking Machines

Featured Replies

Hi all

this may be more for people in the south then Issan. Has anyone seen machines for removing the husks from coconuts.

I have done a net search, but internet here is as slow as jungle drums. I seem to remember a machine I saw somewhere that had 2 blades, you banged the coconut down and the blades split the husk away.

If anyone has seen or knows where I can get one, would be greatly appreciated.

Encase anyone is wondering why, I want the husks for burning and charcoal. We have coconut collectors in the area, but they transport 60 km to de husk the nut. Figure if I give them an easy way they will do it here and leave the husks behind. I gather they only get 50 Baht per pick up truck for the husks, which is not worth the transport cost.

Thanks for reading and hope someone has some info. Jim
